  1. Hello All Somewhat to my surprise LTSB have already responded to my SAR and I received the data last Friday. In the covering letter enclosed was the sentence "You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursement of charges but, if you do feel that you need further statements, this will take longer to access our archived data". Is this now the standard reply, that is they expect me to claim? Seems odd after reading some of their other standard responses in another thread. So - another question. As I will be away over Easter I am going to take my time getting the schedule of charges ready and will send the letter at the end of this week. Is it still OK to cover the claims on the two accounts in one letter? I will be claiming approx £1,000 on one account and £1,300 on the other (before interest). And another question - further down the line do I treat this as one claim for court purposes? Thanking you all in advance. Snap
  2. Thank you Leech and Dolly for the information. I am sure that I was not advised formally that they were going to take the money in the way that you receive advance notice of charges being collected. However I haven't got the energy to pursue that one and at least the card payment was made. Funnily enough LTSB taking that money has caused a direct debit to get bounced so I can add that charge to my list. Snap
  3. Thanks Dolly. I suspected as much but was fuming when I made the post. New query - I will be away with my sister for Easter when the SAR 40 day deadline expires - will it be a problem if I don't chase LSTB up immediately supposing the data has not been received? Another new query - I have confirmed with the Royal mail that the SAR has been delivered but do I contact LTSB at all before the 40 day deadline to let them know that I know that they have had the letter? Thanks everyone. Snap
  4. Thanks again Barty. Hopefully someone may be able to help with the bit about LTSB taking money directly from my account. Is there somewhere else I should post that query? Regards Snap
  5. Hi everyone I sent my SAR letter yesterday, registered post. Can someone tell me if the 40 days are calendar days or working days, so that I know when to chase them up if I don't get a response. On another note, I have a credit card with LTSB and I hadn't made my last moth's payment. Yesterday I was outraged to discover that they had taken the payment from my second account without asking (I had never paid the card from this account). Can they do this? I tried to call Newport (where the account is held) but got India I think. After a pointless argument with someone who appeared to agree with my statement that this constituted legalised robbery I hung up. Any help appreciated on this side issue. Thanks. SnapdragonRed
  6. Thanks for that Barty, I'll keep updating on how I get on. I will send my letter today.
  7. Hello everyone I have two accounts with LTSB, one branch based, one telephone and have had trouble with both off and on over the years. As you all know it is often the bank charges which push you over the edge and my attempts to sort things out in the past have led to some really bad financial decisions and truly horrible debt. Generally speaking LTSB have made arrangements with me to pay off all the charges which I have done. But now they have decided that I don't have enough income to make it worth their while making arragements with me and told me to find another bank and let my account go into "collection". This I have done (so much for twenty years custom) and so I am now ready to go after them for the charges. It is the branch which has told me to naff off and the phone based account (really just for bills) is OK and under its overdraft limit at the moment. I am assuming unless advised otherwise that I should make two separate claims - do you write to the branch and Newport or to their Head Office? Thanking you all in anticipation. SnapdragonRed.
