Hi im am new to this site but would just like to say how great I think it is that we are all challenging banks at long last! How often have we been out with mates or talking to collegues and the conversation of banks has come up and we have all agreed that they rip us off and use our money to benifit they're own satus. As much as we all understand that at the end of the day banks are a business, at present they are becoming nothing short of loan sharks in there charges and complete lack of regard for personal situations. None of us mind paying a charge if we do not take charge of are accounts responsibly but there is a difference between a charge and day light robbery that puts you under so much finacial strain that you end up in a very steep downwards spiral!! Anyway enough of my ranting as im sure you have all heard it before! I wondered if anyone could help me with my dilema? My husband and I decided to try and reclaim our charges and after alot of reading up on this we rang our branch of "NATIOWIDE":mad: we asked for the last 6yrs worth of bank statements ok I know looking now at somemore of the information that this should of been done by letter! Anyway it came back that if we wish to fulfill this request we would have to pay £5 for each and every statement! Has anyone come across this and if so where do we stand? Marti-D x:confused:
