Hi Julie - i am in the same situation myself, having received a gesture of goodwill also. I think the letter before action is to be used if you haven't received any feedback from your Bank. Having received the 'gesture/ joke' i'm personally going to freestyle a letter back declining, but taking some relevant exerts from the library of letters here because having looked through the libraries i can't see a defined response for this situation.
