  1. Chaps Some time ago, I took Lloyds TSB to court for unfair charges, and won about 1.5K off the thieving buggers. While researching the legality and procedures for doing that, I am sure I read on this site somewhere that when you make a payment to a Credit Card company, the regulations allow you to stipulate which part of the debt you are paying back. For instance, if you take a cash advance of £500, you ask for your next payment to come off that £500, as the interest charged on cash advances is more than is charged on purchases. The problem is, I cannot remember exactly what the information was or where I saw it. I have spent the morning looking through the site, to no avail. Does this clause exist in a regulation? Did I dream it? Does this ring any bells with anyone? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I could, of course, be completely wrong and no such clause exists. dax
  2. No this isn't right. If he needs safety footwear, his employers by law have to provide it for him. They also have to provide reasonable access to cold drinking water. he should contact the local authority in the area he works, and speak to the environmental health department.
  3. They paid up!!!! As is their custom, they missed the date to present their response to my bundle, but before a court date was set, they coughed up the whole lot!!
  4. Hi all I have just posted court papers to reclaim nearly £1400 from these robbing bunch of (censored). Sent them two requests by letter, first reply i received said that although it had taken them four weeks to reply, it might take them another four weeks to come to a decision! (I assumed this was in the hope that our friends at OFT would make a ruling in their favour next month). Shortly after that i got another standard "sorry to hear you are unhappy" letter, but no offer of settlement. Stay tuned...........
