  1. Thanks mamatemi1 that's very reassuring.
  2. Hi All, just a quick update. Didn't get my "please give me my money back" letter off until 24/02, Halifax received it on the 25/02 and I've just received my letter from them with the sub-text of "S@d off and stop annoying us". 2nd letter threatening court action going on 11/3 as per MY schedule not the 8 weeks they say they have. Can't emphasise enough how incredibly helpful the advice and support from the people on this site is. Without them I'd have caved in already. Will keep you up to date with developments. (Still scared rigid that I'll be the 1st one to actually have to make my case to a court!):o
  3. Thanks SSL & Docannie. hope you're right about them paying out Sea-sidelady and good luck with court Docannie, not that I think you'll need it but it can't hurt anyway lol.
  4. Well step 1 completed! Posted prelim letter today. Let's see what happens now. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to who they settle with early or late. Anybody see a pattern I can't? ps nervous as hell that I'll be the 1st to have to stand up in court and face their, no doubt, horrendously expensive lawyers:shock:
  5. Congrats! Just starting down the slippery slope myself so it's great to see people winning!
  6. Thank you for the encouragement and advice. Just like everyone else I think it's the waiting that's so nerve rattling.
  7. Hi All, been reading the site for a while now and already got my statements so prelim going in today. Will probably be screaming for help (or reassurance) sometime soon. Very nervous but the wonderful help and support people give on here is really encouraging plus I'd love to see one of the banks actually try to justify their charges in court. Will keep you informed of progress.
  8. Thanks, reading everything my time (and eyes) will allow. Do you really think one of the banks will eventually risk court? The way I, and obviously many others, read the law they wouldn't have a leg to stand on and the decision would open the floodgates of claims even more than they are now.
  9. Hi just joined after getting my initial info from another site. Everybody seems so helpful here. My problem is I'm **** with money and when I get some smug person on the other end of the phone telling me it's all my own fault I tend to just cave in and feel guilty. Having read the methodology and the friendly and helpful posts on this site though I really think I might win. 1st letter going tomorrow, will keep you informed.
