  1. I used to be a Dot Mobile Customer, until they were brought out by Vodafone since then they have changed my tariff to a "similar" one still costing £45 per month, like my original contract. My mobile is now broken - The Screen is black at the bottom, the battery cover comes off so the battery falls out all the time, the volume is stuck on the lowest setting so i cannot use the phone to make calls, and the phone freezes when i am using it and when i think it is locked and in my pocket it phones random people. I was told to take the phone into Carphone Warehouse, where I could get it fixed, they told me it would cost £45 and I should bring it back the following week, I did this and then was told that there is a small piece of white paper under the battery, on my phone it was red which told them that my phone was water logged (i have no idea how as it has never been in any water since i have had it) and that they wont be able to touch it. I called Vodafone and said that I am paying a £45per month contract and I cant even use my phone, is there any way that they could upgrade my phone or give me a working one. They said that they could not do this. I ask if I could reduce my tariff, since i cant use the phone i do not want to be paying for services that i cannot even use, they said that i can reduce my tariff by one step every month, which equates to a £5 reduction each month. Does anyone have any ideas what i can do?
  2. Sorry to be a bit slow on all this, but i sent in a request to my bank to pay me my bank charges in the middle of november 2007. I received back a letter from my bank telling me that they were in a court case about the bank charges and until that was completed, customers could not claim bank charges. They said they would let me know of the outcome, however some people have told me that the case ended and the banks were told they had to pay back customers bank charges. Can anyone please help.
  3. Ok, well i just received a letter from First Direct offering me £2200 instead of the £2700 i asked for. Im a poor student and i really need the money now so i can survive, but i dont want them to get away with the extra £500 that they owe me, anyone have any ideas???
  4. I got the standard response from the bank yesterday, "im sorry to hear...., please find enclosed a copy of our leaflet about complaining....., we will start investigation and contact you within 10 working days, which as it happens is the dead line of the 14 days i have already given them to reply. Will keep you all informed.
  5. Well after speaking to a few people who have already claimed money back from their banks i have put a claim in for OVERDRAFT FEES and EXCESS OVERDRAFT FEES and any of the INTEREST that they took from me as well. If you read through a few of the threads on here from people who have already claimed their money back it seems you should be able to claim it all back, well thats what im trying anyway.
  6. Hi everyone, this is my first thread - a couple weeks ago i asked FD for my statements from the past 6 years, i received these, (for free - which is a plus) I have now taken copies, highlighted and sent them back, by recorded delivery today, with a letter asking for the full amount £2783.44 to be paid back to me, otherwise i will begin a claim against them. Will keep you all informed of my progress. Hope all works out, as im a poor student in my 3rd year at uni and need all the money i can get. fingers crossed.
