  1. Hi all, I have read and re-read all of the info on here and just want to thank everyone who has offered advice and help. I am putting together my schedule of charges and have found that Abbey National did not provide an exact date for all of the charges that have been deducted from my account. The summary of charges that I received from them only has Mar 2004, Oct 2005 etc. I have seen the spreadsheet templates on the CAG site and they all have the exact dates. I can estimate the date that it would have been deducted but it will still only be a an educated guess. Is it acceptable to simply put the month on the schedule of charges that I enclose with the Prelim letter or do I have to go back to Abbey and request more info? Thanks.
  2. Arghhh! That's better. I requested a statement of all of the bank charges against my account for the last 6 years on 01 March 2007. Abbey then sent me a form saying that I needed to give them permission to take a £10 fee. The fee was taken from my account on 10 April. Fine. Done. Sorted. No, I received a list only giving details for 2004 - 07 and was promised the remainder ASAP. On 09 May they refunded the fee into my account (without informing me) and I have been trying, to no avail, to find out why. No one at Abbey National appears to know why this was done or if I am going to receive the remainder of my statements. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what reason did they give and what did you do? After 45 minutes on the phone to their 'customer service' dept I demanded the direct telephone number for the relevant dept who will be able to clarify this for me... David, reluctantly gave me a number which I called this evening, to find that it is the internal number used by Abbey staff to report problems with their printers and IT equipment!! He gave me any info just to get me off the phone. Fobbed off or what! Am I OK to claim now for the charges that they have already provided details of or am I best to wait for the rest of the statements? Basically is there a limit to the amount of claims you can make? Also I have read that it is best to limit your claim to an amount under £5000 due to the rules relating to the small claims court. I have roughly calculated that I am owed about £7000 (not including interest). So sorry to go on guys but they are driving me mad and I have to moan to someone. You lucky, lucky people . Any advice would be appreciated. I didn't think that it would be this difficult to get info about MY own bank account. Thanks. Bex
