Thanks so much dx100uk:) I was having a major anxiety attack about the whole thing!!! So can I just casually but formally drop into my letter of LBA, that also contains my acceptance of my GOGW as partial payment toward to full claim amount that I also want to claim for another £342?????? Feel a bit cheeky.......................however I wonder why that particular statement was left out? Considering it contained the one and only statement that contained the highest charges for one month?! Mmmmmm....... Thanks again Wolfgirl

Hi All, Need some advice please! My own stupid, stupid fault, but as I was double checking my LBA letter and statements before they were sent off, I realised that I was missing a statement. I hunted down this statement and have found that on it consists of £342.00 of charges issued in one month in 2005:o :o I can't beleive that I missed it the first time when going through my statements! I was so careful!! What position am I in now? Can I add these missing charges? Or am I legally stuffed? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Wolfgirl

Yeah I am only accepting as a partial offer. My first prelim letter was from moneysaver.com and didn't contain half as much as the LBA letter does...am I right to be concerned about this? Sorry just not very confident at all this yet! Thanks

Thanks Sam78 for the reply. Wasn't aware that I could do that? Ok, will do that.

I need to combine my Letter Before Action and my Gesture of Good Will acceptance together! I plan to accept the GOGW as advised and then claim back the remaining owed. I have been through the template library but am a little scared of leaving something out that will be legally required if this gets to court!! (Wibble!):o Can some kind soul who is good at wording these kind of letters give me a hand! Thanks in advance.

After having a good read of the recent developments of Abbey and their GOGW. I am even more confused on how to proceed next. Do I still need to send a rejection letter or do I accept the GOGW. I beleive at some stage I need to begin to file my claim and I am just going round in circles trying to get my head round it all! Help please.

Hi All, Just an update and a request for some advice please:-) No sooner had I finished typing my Preliminary letter (my 2nd request for my charges) I received an offer for less than half of what I am trying to claim back. I am 100% that this is just not good enough. Seeing as I didn't even get to send the second letter I am in a pickle as to what I need to include in my 2nd letter back to Abbey rejecting their offer. I know legally that they must receive two hard copies of the 6 years worth of statements from which I am claiming back my charges. Is there a standard letter in the template library that I can use? Thanks all Wolfgirl

Many thanks Mad Nick, for your reply. I beleive that I can only handle one thing at a time with Abbey, so will just be sticking to claiming back my charges. Have been doing some more reading up and have decided that the letter they sent, will just not do and as I have read from several other posts, it is just a delaying tactic. My question is, the first letter I sent out was a template letter detailing my requested charges and interest (something i noted you don't suggest you do until later on). It was not a templete letter from CAG. Although I am pretty sure it states the basics and the information legally requested. Can I take the next step by again sending a copy of transactions and charges for the past 6 years once again with the prelimanary letter (listed in your templates library)? Cheers Wolfgirl

Hello All, Firstly thank you for making me feel so welcome. I had already begun my process of claiming when I became aware of CAG. I have read all the recommended reading etc as suggested and have found it very informative. I have sent out my first claim letter to Abbey requesting £2141 in charges over the past six years. I received a "sorry you felt you had to complain, we will contact you in four weeks" letter. At this early point I am already feeling a bit bullied and girly, because everyone I seem to talk too gives me a different story and is making me feel like I have no right to do what I am doing. I have been sure to be polite and calm when making any complaints, but to be-honest it is just getting a bit too much. When they were made aware that I was going to be requesting six years of statements, i was given a months notice that my £600 overdraft was to be cancelled. Coincidence, or am I right in thinking this was in response to my request?! The reason I was in so much debt was at some points they were charging £400 at a time! Can anyone offer me any words of advice, cause I really flippin need it. Thanks so much. Wolfgirl.

Hello all, Another newbie here. Just wanted to introduce myself. Was told was this was the place to be and am a little comforted to know that I am not the only one having "issues" with their banks (to put it mildly!). I have recentley written and asked "Abbey" for my bank charges back. I received a letter back today (after 8 days) to say that "they are looking into it, and it will take up to four weeks to process my request". I am a little unsure of what to do next and am slightly apprehensive of how Abbey have reacted so far. When I originally made a request for six years of bank statements I was sent a letter not long after telling me my overdraft had been cancelled and that I was to pay off the outstanding amount within the month. Has anyone got any words of wisdom for me, I would really appreciate any words of advice you can offer. Thanks. Wolfgirl
