  1. Hi there Does anyone know the account number and sort code details required in order to pay off arrears with the Halifax via Internet banking? I detest speaking to them and simply cannot bring myself to phone them since I know I won't be able to contain my anger.
  2. Yesterday, whilst at work, LloydsTSB rang me and an automated message stated I must contact them about a 'personal business matter' - I have withheld payment for a loan I have with them - so I rang the 0870 number and had a go a the poor person at the other end (never mind), and asked him why I should make the £119 payment when they owe me nearly £6,000. His stuttered and confused, "Well what do you want me to do?" is a classic response. It's one of the first things they tell you NOT to say to a customer when being trained for such a job. He grovelled for a while and then offered me a Birmingham address. I will write to this address, the one in Andover and their Peterborough Service Centre today via recorded delivery and await their response. I have altered the wording in the letters demanding a response since I have received none yet from the other addresses I have written to.
  3. So the Andover address is the best one to use? Please let me have it in full.
  4. I didn't send either Special Delivery, however I hand-delivered the one to my local branch. In addition, the one to my local branch threatened bailiffs arriving on their doorstep along with alerted local media and a reference to Lloyds shareholders' money being wasted on court costs.
  5. I received judgment on 2nd May 2007, and despite writing two letters demanding payment, one to Gresham Street and one to my local branch, Lloyds have ignored me. Is there a particular address I should write to? The judgment is for over £5K but I am reluctant to go through the High Court because of the costs.
  6. How's it going? I have now lost my patience with this lot. Not only has a letter to Gresham Street been ignored but a second one aimed specifically at my own branch has also obviously been consigned to the tray marked 'B'. Also, Lloyds are still adding charges. Question: How do I go about adding these new charges to the total already stated in the jugdment? Can I just add it on or do I have to inform the court? I suspect the latter.
  7. Stupid question, maybe, but how much does that cost?
  8. Nothing yet (surprise, surprise), but having said that their deadline hasn't expired yet. Into which address do you intend sending the bailiffs? I don't seem to receive any correspondence from any address I write to. I'm beginning to wonder if I should hand-deliver a final warning to my local branch on the deadline date and see their reaction to the notion that bailiffs will arrive there!
  9. Are the ten days up? I presume they are. Did they pay?
  10. Rang Trowbridge County Court today and the person I talked to stated that it is unusual for the Defendant to converse with anyone but the Claimant. They have received nothing. She said she would send me a form to progress to the High Court (amount owed exceeds £5,000), but I think I should contact Lloyds first and warn them this action is about to take place. I presume I write to the address on the Claim Form, i.e. 25 Gresham Street? Any help gratefully received.
  11. Tomorrow a week will have passed since judgment. How long do I give them? In addition, the judgment also states that I may be entitled to further interest if the judgment is for more than £5,000 (it is), so what do I do next?
  12. It's a bit odd. I wonder if they're receiving so many claims that they've just given up?
  13. Since 'forthwith' means 'now', I am quite prepared to use bailiffs. Any thoughts?
  14. 02 May 2007. Judgment for Claimant (in default) "To the Defendant You have not replied to the claim form. It is therefore ordered that you must pay the claimant £5759.62 for debt (and interest to date of judgment) and £120.00 for costs You must pay the claimant a total of £5,879.62 forthwith"
