Hi I am just starting out on this journey. To date I have requested 6 years copy statements (enclosing £10 fee) and at the same time wrote to the bank at another address letting them know that once these are recieved and I find that they have levied disproportionate penalties against me that I will be claiming these back. They have since replied telling me that they will not pay back the penalities and giving me a deadline date to respond back. They have also offered me details of the Ombudsman. I am waiting for my statements now but wonder if I should respond to the deadline date and/or contact the Ombudsman. Can anyone advise please? Many thanks
