  1. thanks alot ren, should i send the SAR's to the banks or the dca? and does anyone have any good advice on getting a good settlement figure in motion? just in case someone can lend me the money. just want it over with asap
  2. thanks you two.... im convinced i have at least £500 worth of charges on the barclays account, but am i right in thinking that they're refusing to pay until the end of the court case? Also i am working now....and think i'll have about £400-£500 p/m to pay these debts. i have: £3000 cahoot card £500 Natwest £250 Mint £1,000 barclaycard all with dca's i also have £2,000 natwest overdraft I also have a £5000 loan with egg....and in two minds as to whether i should contact them or let it go to a dca. can anyone suggest to me how to approach these debtors? and what i should do to negotiate the best deal. many thanks
  3. i didnt get it in writing . but is there anything i can do now? if my credit rating is bad now....id really just like to try and settle the debts as cheaply as possible. Could anyone give me any advice to do this? or any company who could possibly do it on my behalf? i really just want this situation to end
  4. hi, i had a debt of 2200 with barclays....it went to DCA as i was unemployed.....i borrowed some money from a friend and agreed with them a settlement firgure of 1600. when i calleda few days later to pay...they then said the least they could accept was 1720. Nit knowing what to say and feeling slightly depressed...i agreed and paid the 1600. i couldnt pay the amount and now theyre chasing me for the full 600. surely they cant do this? i also have around 6000 of debts with 4 different companies with DCA's any advice on getting a good settlement figure without my credit rating getting a bashing would be really great. thanks
  5. Hi guys, After various letters to barclays i managed to get the statments. Problem is i'm convinced there are entries missing, and im convinced the charges shown are no where near the amount they should be. A friend of mine also believes the same with his claim. Does anyone believe its possible they've missed entried? Many thanks
  6. Sorry guys, Was about to accept West's offer. Then I re-read a paragraph: As a gesture of goodwill, I am prepared to make you a payment of £896 as you requested. Acceptance of this offer will be a full and final settlement of your claim and your agreement that NatWest's terms and conditions for your having bank facilities will continue to apply' I know it sounds all good....but just wanted to make sure that the final part of the paragraph was something I should accept? Thanks alot,
  7. Will do Nats, thanks alot
  8. hey guys, Well that seemed preety simple....Natwest agreed to 'as a gesture of goodwill' refund the £896 i claimed as a gesture of goodwill'... I know it probably sounds ungreatful...but seems to easy considering i sent the prelim only 12 days ago....cant help but think i underclaimed! Generally i'm happy. Thing is i think i've had 2 charges since the claim was made (well since i had staments to say so) for about £75. They've given me the name of someone to talk to about their offer. Should i just be greatful....or try and claim the 2 charges? Many thanks all for ur advice.
  9. cheers kate, Sent off my prelim to natwest bank, and sent the SAR to natwest mastercard. I kinda hope ur right with the quick payout. Although part off me wants to go to court. Ive just started work at a law firm.....and would love to put some advice to practice!! (some people r never happy huh!!)
  10. cheers Paul..... Clarifys things abit. Hope I get the same as u!!
  11. Cheers Phil. Appreciate it mate
  12. Cheers guys. Gonna go for glory now. Another thing about a NatWest Mastercard I have. Is it the same process of just requesting the statments and following the same process? Thanks
  13. Hi all, Really hope someone can advise me. Ive held a Natwest account for 8 years and have just received the statements i requested. I've worked out charges totalling app. £750. Problem is that I'm overdrawn by £2000, which I couldnt pay back if requested. Can anyone please advise whether I should persue the claim or not, and 2ndly is there any information I would miss out on by receiving standard bank statements and not through the data protection act information. Many thanks
