Having sent Barclays an LBA, I have on Friday 09th Feb received a letter denying liability but offering me £850 as a "goodwill gesture" to settle my complaint. My claim is for £1800. I am now inclined to go to court. However, what if the worst happened and Barclays were to defend themselves and win. Would I then be liable for their legal bill or do they always never defend in court?

also can i claim back my account fees? they charge me what was £6 a month and has now gone up to £14 a month for holding an account with them???
Hi Chell, it sound like the fees you are paying are for Barclays Additions. If thats the case then you must have, like me, agreed to have that enhancement to your account (gives several benefits like travel insurance and the ability to draw on a cheque from the day its paid in etc). So I doubt that you can claim that.

Thanks for that RippedOffAgain. Do you or anyone know of anyone ever losing to the banks in court?
Do the Banks in particular Barclays, always lose and pay in full?
