  1. WON!!

Recieved in the post today a letter form FD, advising that they are refunding all my charges. £798.00 in total. It's been a couple of months only because I have moved house in the meantime. My request for a refund of charges actually went out to FD on 1 March, so 27 days later it has been finalised.

For all those that are just starting on their journey, it's simple, just stick to your guns. I followed the process laid down in the forums, using the standard letters. FD offered me a lower amount at first, so I rejected and asked for the full amount, 10 days later they capitulated.

  2. I'm asking this because I was going through stuff in my head whilst Coronation Street was blar blar blarring in the background. On a number of occasions First Direct have rang me to 'chat about my account', in other words ask me to repay some of the amount I was over my OD limit. One time they even put me in touch with an 'account adviser' to help, he pointed out that out monthly outgoings were too high, mainly due to Credit Card payments and his advice was to take out a loan, or remortgage. Incedentally, the First Direct mortgage adviser could not help because our outgoing were too high, oh the irony...

Anyway, does this constitute 'manual intervention' I mean the charges were already taken by their automated system and they were basically following it up. If it is considered intervention, what affect would that have on my claim?
