You need to ask for a data subject access request - see the guidance notes and template library. If you simply ask for duplicate statements they can charge you. If you make a data access request they can charge you a maximun of £10 for the lot.

Has anyone else been refused a refund by HSBC on the grounds that the OFT ruling only applies to credit card accouts?

Any tips of how i come back at them? They owe me a grand and I'm not giving up!!

I have a couple of questions relating to HSBC.

I recently got a reply from HSBC refusing to refund my charges on the grounds that the OFT report published 5th April 2006 only relates to default charges on credit card accounts.

Is this true? First Direct refunded me my charges on my current account (although of course maintaned they were not illegal), and I sent them the same letter.

They then invite me to escalte my complaint to the internal complaint handling procedure (Service Quality Team) and provine me with an address in Leeds.

Is this the best action or is there someone better in HSBC to complain to?

I would really appreciate some advice.
