  1. I wrote a preliminary letter with a schedule of charges to Halifax asking for them back. The charges and interest came to a total of £2500.00. Four weeks later, They(Halifax) wrote to offer £702.00 final offer.

I would have rejected it though if it wasn't for my dilemna.

The schedule of charges was for a total of 11years and I think as you can only claim for 6 years, I fear the worse if I don't accept this offer. Also, as I didn't have overdraft facilities, most of the charges were for bounced cheques and unpaid direct debits but I've added the 8% interest across all board. What should I do? I now have 11 days to consider this offer. Please advice!!!:???:

  2. Hi Everone,

I've just recieved a reply to my preliminary request for payment. In it, I'm told they are given 8 weeks to investigate and respond to complaints by the FSA. However, if they are not able to reply in 4 weeks, they will update me of the progress.

I'm claiming for about £2500.00 plus interest over the last 10 years. I know ideally, you can claim up to 6 years. So far I believe I have followed your advice to the letter. Can someone advice me on how I'm doing and what to expect or do?

  3. Well could tou believe it, I sent the DPA access request letter given them(Halifax) 40 days to comply. The Documents arrived on the 39th day but I recieved a leeter stating that my reuests will be sent seperately.

The first hurdle was crossed without a hitch but if there's anyone out there who has gone past this stage and offer a few words of advice, it would be most appreciated.
