Last summer a parked motorist opened his driver's door when I was right on top of him,
knocking off my wing mirror and trim, scratching the paintwork.
I put in a claim.
At the same time my insurance company informed me that the incident had been reported by someone else;
I assume this was the other driver
(who initially offered to pay as it was his fault and then presumably spoke to his mates who told him not to admit anything. Just a theory).
The other claim was closed as a no-fault claim.
At this point I should say that I have 30 years no claims so don't have much idea how things work.
I took my car to the designated repair shop as instructed.
I had a conversation with someone in the claims dept.
I sent various details and diagrams.
A firm contacted me about a courtesy car and then came back to say the other party was disputing the claim.
Then nothing.
have emailed several times to find out what's happening and had no response.
I replaced the wing mirror.
now my insurance premium has gone up by 300%.
I called to ask why and they say it's because I made 2 claims last year.
Is that right?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Thank you. I have the number and will call them during their slightly inconvenient hours today.
