I have just totaled up my old business bank charges.

starting from 2001 up until 2005

They amount to about £1,600

Can I claim them back.

I still have all the bank statements.

So if it is SB & even if they sold it to a dca, am I right in thinking I can claim the ppi back from them but they can not come after me.

But could they still come after me more than 6 years after any contact with them, is it not statute barred now.

No none of them appear on my current credit file.

in fact my credit file is completly clear.

but I know I would owe them a lot more than they owe me.

i guess it would be better to say nothing & do nothing & forget all about claiming ppi

I owed banks & credit cards money.

I have not been in touch with any of them for more than 6 years, having vanished from there radar.

I do not believe they can come after me because all the debts are to old.

But I do still have all the paperwork & account numbers,

If I were to try & claim the PPI back would they have to give it to me or would they just put it towards the money I owe them.

& having my new address come after me for the balance.

Thank you Unclebulgaria I have checked my file & there are 2 ccj's registered which will hopefully drop of my record in a few months time.

If i wait until they have gone & then open a bank account etc, will they show up on my record again. And you say they could go back to court for more time do'es this happen very often. It seems a bit unfair if you wait 6 years for a clean record & all they have to do is go back to court & ruin my credit rating for another 6 years. it seems to me these people could ruin you life for ever.

Thank you for your help & good the good info, The problem as I see it with the 2 links you gave me is both of them require an address for the credit/debit card which would then be a link to where I am now, do you know if these company's sell on my details. And if one of my creditors did take me to court by writing to me at my old address, which I would not have received & consequently could not reply. I am guessing they would get a judgement against me by default.

Hello My name is Fred, I have been out of the country for just over 6 years. But now I am back here in UK for the foreseeable future. before I left I had a lot of debts banks credit cards etc.etc.

I have kept a low profile & no one found me. During the 6+ years I did not contact or pay anything to my debts.

As I said I am back here in Blighty wanting to start again. I do not have a bank account yet & I am not on the electrol roll yet.

I understand that as I have not been in contact with my creditors since Aug 2007 am I correct in thinking my debts are now statute barred.

I have read somewhere that if they had taken me to court & obtained a court order, the debt may not be statute barred. But since no one knew where i was they could not have issued me with a court summons unless they sent it to my old address. but of course not being there i would not have received it.

If I start to rebuild my credit by opening a bank account can they come after me. And short of obtaining a credit history report on my self how would I find out about any ccj's Of course the moment i ask for a credit report every one & his wife will know where I am.

What should I do. any help would be very welcome.
