I am also suspended from work, I got a call last week off a police officer to ask if I could attend an interview in the police station. I was paranoid, even though I was innocent.

In the police station they asked if I was we'll enough to answer the questions, and told me I could leave at anytime. I'm sure you'll get the same speech. You should be honest with them and tell them your in no fit state at the moment as you've been under a lot of stress. Your health is really important.

Rv02 - I'm also suspended from work, but I refuse to resign as I have done nothing wrong and I firmly believe that if you quit, then you've got something to hide.

Stick it out. I have been suspended for 4 months in total, and yes, it's been torture but I seem to be getting some where now.

Work are really dragging their feet. I sent the letter Thursday asking what's happening next and I spoke to my partners brother who is a police inspector and he said work should take my back now seeing as it was all a big lie.

Yeah I'm still being paid, and people keep saying "stop worrying, you're still getting paid" but that's irrelevant.

I like to earn my money. I've never been one to sit around so this past couple of weeks I've been on the hunt for a new job

Hi, I think your employer would be on shaky ground legally if they didn't allow you to return after the police deciding there is no case.

 

If you are able to return, I'd strongly advise doing so. It may be difficult at first, but I would recommend returning, even if its only for a time while you look for another job.

I tried explaining to work 3 months ago that their wasnt a case as I wasn't in work when the item was stolen and when the officer said the item was taken on the 10th March, then it hit the nail on the head because I was at my nan and bamps ruby anniversary so I couldn't of been in work stealing when they're a good 30 miles away from each other lol. The officer wasnt even told we had a Rota book or allocations book but as soon as he checked those he instantly dropped the case. So why are work dragging their feet?

I want to go back to stand strong and clear my name,

I'm worried about going back to that care home. I'd much rather a transfer now. The thought of going back their makes me a bit strange

write (do not call) your employer and ask to be reinstated as the police are taking no further action

What does the police thing mean though? Does that mean that POvA has also dropped it and I should be allowed back to work?

Hey everyone and thanks for all the replies.

So just an update, but still not any the wiser about the situation and still could use some advice.

So, Monday evening I get a call from the police asking for an interview and I was more than happy with this seeing as its taken almost 3 months to get this far.

I went to meet him in the police station on Tuesday at 11am and was told I was their voluntary and I could leave if I wanted and that I was entitled to a solicitor etc but I refused, I didn't feel like I needed one.

So anyways, first things first I told him the information he was giving me was the first I'd heard of any of the whole situation, he told me what I was supposed to of done and then asked me a few questions and I answered them complete honest with an open mind. It was easier to answer his questions with out knowing anything weirdly lol

So anyway, today I had a phone call saying "the police are taking no further action"

So what's next? What does this mean for me and going back to work?

I have asked my employer many times why I have been suspended but she keeps fobbing me off saying "I'll call you when it's dealt with by POVA" other than that I keep getting "I can't tell you anything". I have ignored my colleagues for 4 weeks now and after the first 2 weeks, they've now stopped calling and texting. I just don't want any trouble.

& I'm not dealing with guilt, because I've got no reason to.

Have you ever been accused of something you didn't do? It's the most stressful thing in the world and for me, since I've left school I have worked because I have always wanted my own independence so I worked to get my own place etc so to be out of work for such a stupidly long time is super stressful.

Actually my colleague told me that on hand-over the nurse said who ever stole it would have an old iPod, or is second technical who needed one. I don't know what it's called so I can't explain better. Basically the iPod didnt fit the docking station with out this part that's missing.

I phoned my manager again today, again she won't tell me a thing and I can't say I know what I'm supposed to of done because xxx told me and he isn't supposed to speak to me. I have ignored everyone from work as I'm not allowed to speak to anyone from there. I wish I could phone up and say "hey, why the hell is this taking so long because I wasn't even in work!" Though I have to be honest, I'm debating sending a letter saying I was told, and giving my point across.

Matt, that's correct. The manager said theft, and said nothing else.

It wasn't a charger, it was a connector thingy that connects an old iPod to a new docking station. I guess I'll bide my time in hope that all this will be resolved soon. My biggest worry now is how to go back to work when this is solved. My confidence has been knocked tremendously

The girl who said I done it has cerebral palsy and she can't speak but she can nod for yes and shake her head for no but she doesn't like younger people caring for her and she's always been off with me as I'm only 23. She's 10 days older than I am. Also, she wouldn't see me working down her isle as I'm never down there so I can't see why she would nod yes for me when I don't see her unless someone has put it on her head. It will be 4 weeks on Wednesday

I was wondering if there was a chance that the item was just misplaced. I hope it is in a way because I want to go back to work. 3 weeks is a long time to be out of work. I feel unemployed. I could speak to HR but I'm not sure who I ask for.

Yeah my friend told me on Monday 11th March in NVQ training that the said item was stolen the weekend before but I wasn't at work so came as a huge shock for me to be blamed

I am also aware that I am the only one who's been suspended and that it was a disabled girl who said I did it.
