Wow! 67 views and no advice
-
Hello all.
I recently signed up to a 12 month CompTIA A+ home study course through Computeach. I pay monthly. After a few months of study and failing my initial exam, Ive decided that i am not cut out for IT and returned my study books to Computeach with a letter explaining my decision.
I have also cancelled my direct debit.
I wish to find out if Computeach can legally tie me into a 12 month agreement where i am effectively paying for nothing? They have obviously emailed me stating that im signed to a 12 month contract and need to continue payments.
I never met face to face with them before i signed up; it was all done over the phone and even then i was not asked any questions to gauge my level of IT experience.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Regards
Justin

I signed up to do one of their course on a 12 month pay monthly scheme. After 5 monthly payments and failing my first exam and after being told that any further studies would increase in difficulty, i decided to quit study. I wrote to them and returned the manuals despite having paid for them and i cancelled my direct debit.
I was signed up over the phone, but it was not checked at all if i was suitable to study the course, nor was i informed that i could elect to not attend in center days thus reducing my total costs. I have also just read my contract and it states that i can cancel within 14 days after receiving an email of my contract which i never even received. I just got one via the post.
I am wondering if i am still liable to pay the remaining 7 months even though id be essentially paying for no service?
