  1. They were supposed to take the full amount on 28 may but they only took interest and the same thing yesterday. They are ignoring all emails.

Read your contract again and see what they say regarding payments whether they debit the full amount, or only the interest until you phone in and tell them to collect in full.

0845 834 0998 is their phone number, which is listed on their Contact Us page. I phoned it, was on hold for a few minutes before getting through - so they are answering their phones.

  2. You took the loan out six weeks ago?

Surely if the loan is for a month you would have only rolled over once?

I know some companies have it in their terms that they will only take the interest payment until you tell them to debit the full amount, so can't you just ask them to take the full amount, less the interest you've paid so far?

  3. The bottom of their site says they are Payday Exchange Ltd.

A quick search of their company: they just look like a brand new payday loan company, established in November according to Companies House.

Odd that you are being charged for a text though - can you not just unsubscribe?

I would post the data I found, but it appears I haven't posted enough to be able to do it.

  4. I too fell in to default with several PDL's.

I managed to agree to a payment plan with 1Month Loan for £20. They said this was the minimum monthly payments they would accept. I was able to set it up via Standing Oder too as I had cancelled my cards and refused to give them my new details.

Is £20 something you could stretch to, as it would allow you to stop worrying about them and focussing on the harder to agree with companies?

    Hope this helps.

  5. Strange indeed. Maybe it's worth keeping that text in case they get nasty!

I was in a payment plan with Mr Lender and have to say they were one of the better ones to deal with when it came to agreeing to a repayment. I owed about £330.00 in total and did have to pay £40 to set it up (which was a set-up fee they include then a payment to begin the payment plan) but everything was fine after that and I never had issues with them when it came to my payment dates.

As an aside: I do find it funny that their tag line is "your friend until payday"!

  6. Hi all,

I've been a long time reader of this site and similar sites regarding the effects payday loan companies have had on us all and I just want to add my story.

My problems with payday loans all started about 16 months ago when I needed an operation and was put on sick leave from work. Going from a decent salary (£1500pm) to sick pay totalling about £300pm altogether meant I struggled to cope for a long time financially and resorted to pay day loans just to cover my rent and food bills. Eventually things spiralled out of control with me needing to take more and more loans out to cover the repayments until I had 8 loans out totalling £2300 on just the capital alone, with interest on these loans coming up to circa £700!

I struggled to defer these loans for as long as possible to keep my pride and avoid defaulting but in the end it just became too much of a burden and I made the decision 9 months ago to default on all loans.

I changed my bank accounts, cancelled my cards and made the calls to arrange payment plans with all of the companies I had loans with. It was a struggle, and some companies were more willing than others to accept payment plans but I eventually got them all to agree.

I've had to live off the basics for these past few months, and almost have a non-existant social life, but I've managed to turn my life around and in three months all my debts to these companies will be clear!! :D

This is just a message to say that even when things look tough you can find the strength to sort out your finances and now I'm looking forward to a brighter future, and will make sure I never make the same mistakes again when it comes to my finances.

    Thank you.
