Good afternoon, I have a direct Debit set up to pay of a car loan for a set ammount each month. Due to a bank mix up the payments have not been made for the past couple of months, as a result the company Santander have tried to take the charges out of my account using the dd agrement set up. Can they do this, i do not think they can. This has resulted in bank charges. I have writen to them but all i got back was a copy of my letter and a copy of my agrement with the charges highlighted and no covering letter. Can anyone advise me please.

I am in the same boat, i have just printed off the 1st letter and will be hitting the BOS Brechin branch with it soon. It may be a long fight but knowing there are people out there fighting the same cause and willing to give positive advice is great. Good luck.
