  1. I too have had problems.

I called them when I recieved my March bill and was told i needed to send my April bil.. I sent my april bill and was told I wa stoo late and should have snet my March bill.

They refuse to consider this and wont budge.

what happens if i cancel my DD and stop paying them. who will chase me, mobiles.co.uk or Orange?

  2. Hi there. How did you pay for the necklace/

was it by credit card? If so, you could hold raise a dispute with them. If it cost more than £100 and you used a credit card, you could make a claim under section 75 of the consumer credit act 1974. his hold the credit card company jointly liable for breach of contract as I believe this is the case.

In this case they would fight your cause and no need for court action by you.

  3. In Feb 2009, I agreed with a VW garage in Bolton to buy a car off them (without seeing it as it was held in a central depot in Mikton Keynes).

I paid a deposit and the car was to be transported to Bolton for collection in a few days.

I went to collect the car, and had to cancle the deal as the car had accessories missing which the garage would not replace.

They refunded my deposit and I thought that was the last of it. Note i never even test drove the car.

I received a log book for the car as the saleman had sent the new registration documents in before I went to collect the car.

I sent the log book to the VW garage as requested, and thought that was the end of it.

Anyway, I receiveda letter before xmas saying i hadnt notified DVLA of a change of ownership. I called DVLA and explained the situation (so when I told them over the phone they knew of the situation). The girl at DVLA said I still needed to write to them to notify them.

I was cheesed off that I now had to write a letter, but I did it anyway.

Then I receive a fine to say they havent been notified so I need to pay £35 or £55.

I've sent the form back to my local DVLA office and await their response.

If they come back and try to enforce this - where do I stand?

  4. the smack was over the clothing on her bottom.

when i think it through, i do agree that a small smack cany really hurt physically, but i'm not sure if it's what i want for my kids. I have never smacked them ever, and do not intend to, so why should I overlook it when someone else does?

I'm not sure what to do. The incident was not this week, so it's hard to pin down when it occured. I asked them both again last night, and one said she was only kidding and didnt get smacked, whilst the other said her sister did get smacked.

  5. Yesterday my daughter shocked my wife and me by telling us that one of the staff at her nursery had smacked her bum and gave her time out.

This was in response to my daughter smacking another child who bit her.

This is the first time we'd heard of the incident, so we asked her several times, even trying to gently coerce her into admitting she was joking. However she is admanant that she is telling the truth.

My question is, how do we approach the nursery without fear of any future payback on my daughter? I assume it's not in the interest of the nursery (private) to admit to such an "offence".

I'm struggling to get my head around it, as I want to protect my daughter, but dont want to cause her future problems.

  6. Hi all, I wonder if anyone can advise me.

I appointed a builder to complete an extension and the company ceased trading shortly before xmas as the main man walked away from the business - leaving his junior(ish) partner to deal with everything.

I have paid 80% of the agreed price. The remaining partner in the business said he was starting his own company, and said it would cost me a similar amount to complete.

I have paid substantial amounts by credit card and so have made a claim under section 75 for the whole amount I paid.

The builders have done some of the work they said they would, but this no way reflects 80% of the total job.

Does anyone have any precedent cases that I could use to get a speedy resolution? If not, how long do I leave it before chasing the credit card company for a refund?

The initial response from the credit card company is that I am not automatically entitled to a refund under section 75.
