Yes she does receive council tax and housing benefit now at a reduced sum.

But unfortunately this was for Council tax for her shop she once owned. This was about 5 years ago.

Can any one please help me on this issue?

My mother is a 66 year old, who has just spent the last 3 weeks in hospital due to high blood pressure. Since returning home she has been hassled by council lawyers for the sum of £60 she pays monthly.

Now the problem is that she cannot afford to pay this sum. I personally pay the £60, so as to reduce the amount of stress she is going through.

How can I get this amount reduced or even written off as she only receives The State pension?
