Re: Northern Rock CCA is it enforcable? - please help
"Not sure why i bother here and advise any guests reading to head over to Martin Lewis moneysavingexpert forum, where people are far more helpful, responsive, and actually reply to a question when they say they will."
If you think its so bad here-nothing stopping YOU from going.
Let others decide for themselves.
I look at both forums, because they are good for research purposes, simply personal preference that i find the other forum a nicer place to be.

Hmm, perhaps you should be asking questions on your own thread and not on someone elses:)
I did 3 months ago, and ironically it was you who responded to me then/or didnt, as the case may be.

I took a re-finance loan out with Tesco on 28th August this year, for up £8,000, (covering £3000 from outstanding previous) and £5000 new funds to payoff a Cahoot flexible loan.
They sent me a confirmation including the payment holiday that my first payment of £174 would be taken on 1st December this year.
Since the loan was issued they have taken 3 payments, 1st Sept, 1st Oct and today 2nd Nov of the original loan monthly amount of £176.
I have called them and they said they will 'look into this' and get back to me.
What can i do or get them to do?

The unheard voices have the most problems.

This statement is a little unkind dont you think ? This is a self help site, anyone offering assistance is a volunteer and there are many requests for assistance made. So it might take some time for an answer unless your post/thread is flagged as urgent.
Thanks for getting back to me, communication is the key.
I felt slightly guilty making an outburst, but in my working world if i say i am going to something i do it when i say i am going to do it.
This problem is one of the biggest issues i face daily in the construction industry, people simply make commitments they cannot keep or promises they dont intend to keep.
-
Not to be at all pretentious, but the promises of 'assistance' from this website seem to be as likely as promises of 'assistance' from the banks in 'helping' customers.

Can anyone help?

Thats great, thanks for your help.

Are the free companies that look at this worth using?

I have paid this months payment today - i wonder if it could be one of the last!

Thats great, thanks for your help, much appreciated.

No problem, please find attached.
I have also attached the covering letter which they issued when they sent me the copy.
I hope i can find guidance on this website, such a great place for information.

So the acceptance form is a new enforcable credit agreement in the form i have posted here?
The other attachment which confirmed the details also shows a £1 difference in payment from the acceptance form i signed.
-
Hello,
This is the only 'agreement' i have for my 'rescheduled' personal loan following a refund (accepted and received) of PPI as detailed above.
Is this new 'rescheduled' agreement, valid?
-
Sorry, i have now taken out the details and re-posted.
I trust they are now legible?
-
Will do, i can see it clearly in an attachment however?? I will do this now.

Hello,
A bit of background, i took out a loan of £10k with northern rock in 2004, over a period of 120 months, including PPI.
During 2008 i succsefully reclaimed PPI via a third party company, they then issued a letter to 'reschedule the loan'.
This was during 2008.
Attached are the letters and the only documentation i have received or signed on this issue.
Does it validate Northern Rock? Is it an enforcable agreement?

I made an erroneous second balance transfer from barclaycard to halifax of £1570, barclaycard couldnt transfer this back to halifax so the funds have been deposited into my current account.
Should i get it back onto the Halifax card (They have said they will refund the balance transfer fee) or should i transfer it into the Cahoot flexible loan account currently at 21.9% APR, and save the interest on it for 9 months that way?
(And attempt to pay some off the card in that time).
-
I have done that. Approx 3.5k from Northern Rock, HFC and Egg.

Is it best to close inactive accounts or leave them open at the zero balance?

My job is fairly stable, i am on the first 4 months of a 5 year fixed mortgage payment of £492, and i am 27 years old, so hopefully nothing should crop up that can make things worse, my wifes job is also stable.
Its just so frustrating that i made bad decisions in my youth, or i could literally be rolling in it at the moment.
