  1. I am guessing that no matter how welcome Primark claim you would be back in their stores - you will never want to give them your custom again!

I feel so sorry that for the vast majority of the public who do not know what the little "civil recovery" signs mean on the shop windows - they don't realize the danger they are in when entering a store - honestly, after my own experience, I don't ever want to shop again! When I do go into a store I get the attention of a store assistant and insist that they go round with me and pick out whatever I need to buy - they think I am mad but it is how paranoid I have become.

  2. Hi

Now I am a novice here but can you contact the CPS not just to inform them of Primark's current stance in the latest letter but also to prepare your defence under the Data Protection Act request access to the case file? I am sure that JonCris will know whether that is possible.

How on earth can CPS justify that this would be in the public's interest - what a waste of money and distress for you both!

  3. Hi

I totally sympathize with what you are going through - sometimes it is better to know what you have to face than be stuck in some type of limbo imagining all sorts of things.

RLP seem to be worrying quiet on here at the moment and this is not necessarily a good thing. They have applied for a Credit Licence (if you look at the other posts) and perhaps have put cases on a "back-burner" until they are increasingly sure of their stance. But I am not an expert - it is only my opinion.

unfortunately, the letters have "Retail Loss Prevention" stamped on the envelope for all to see so I wonder if you might feel brave enough to discuss it with your partner. She might be more understanding than you expect?

  4. Hi Dogma

I feel very sorry for your situation, I suspect a momentary indiscretion based on personal circumstances in a wider recession. Unfortunately the very desperation that is causing people to do silly things is making it all the more lucrative for the shops who use RLP.

I would suggest that RLP can be very quick at sending out their fines, sometimes within a few days or if they are likely to be building a larger case against you then I think they have up to 3 years to bring about civil action. There are good people on this site who can advise you and direct you to the right bodies for help. I suggest when you receive the letter that you keep the forum posted and with particular attention to the wording of it to see if it is the same as the standardized letters that everyone has received on here to date. Then see if you can contact your local Trading Standards for advice and a civil law solicitor (you might qualify for Legal Aid so it is worth looking into).

  5. Hi

I am a new member and have been desperately searching on the net for case history regarding TK Maxx and RLP.

We are in a disasterous and traumatic position at the moment - all last week both my mum and I wanted to kill ourselves as we are frightened to death. They are pursuing criminal and civil action against without firm evidence and have treated us so badly. I cannot go into detail but we are devastated. I do have a copy of the so called TK Maxx banning notice which we were ordered to sign without knowing rights or what it was until after signed it and read it. We have had a letter from RLP asking for £137 (I suspect more to come). I cannot go into more at the moment as we feel so upset about everything and so desperate. Can anyone help? I will certainly help you on the proof of conduct etc.

    Thank you!
