  1. hi guys..

advice pls.. sorry if im repeating what has been said-

so far i have sent 3 letters

    1. the one saying they have breached there contract etc..

    2. stating why computeach arnt like for like etc..

    3. the dispute letter.

I have had no reply to any of them and have only received the generic we have found you computeach letters..

my payment was due out on the 15th.. i didnt pay.. today i receive a text saying my account is over due.. perhpas it was an oversight and to call them to make a payment.

Im due to contact the fos-going to phone tomorow and see what i need to do etc....

the no win no fee adviced we dont contact bpf unless to tell them we are seeking legal advice ... but should i phone and explin that i will not be making payment as they have not acknowledged any of my letters.. as far as im concerned my account has not been sorted out ( sent my letters recorded so ni know they arrived) and that i am not receiving any training from computeach so why should i pay.

im really nevous about this .. debt collectors court... the idea of being threatened with that scares me..

  2. hi guys,

i sent my letter of disoute last week but have had no reply.. my paymetns are due on the 15th but im not paying ( scared about that thought)

i sent the letter guaranteed delivery, nad have proof it arrived.

If they do not write back acknowledging my dispute letter does the fact that its in dispoute still stand or do i need a reply from them

Im only asking as they have ignored all my letters

  3. hello,

I have just come across this thread and wanted to share our story.

My husband was taking the Microsoft Engineer course with Advent computer training and we had no idea that it went bust, not until one month ago when I just happened to come across a news report. We were shocked.

We are clueless as to what to do so we went into our local Barclays branch where we were advised to stop payments to Barclays Partner Finance which we promptly did, and then the phone calls started up until 9:30 pm every night and then threatning letters stating they will charge him huge amounts of fines until he pays up,

I believed them as I use to bank with Barclays and once I went £3.00 over drawn and was charged £130.00 pounds so when I was paid my wages, I was short £130.00 so I went overdrawn again which started a vicious cycle of being overdrawn and getting charged, It got so bad that it was either food or rent and I rang Barclays and begged them in tears to stop charging me and I was told just like this, 'You are obviously a charity case, and Barclays is not a charity' I have never forgotten that and it still makes my blood boil 12 years later.

So back to the present day, computeach has been in touch telling us how fantastic they are but he has not signed up to anything, They asked him to sign into the website to look at courses but he was afraid he might be signing up to them without realizing it if he did that. so we are stuck in limbo, paying Barclays out of fear of being charged, not signed up to computeach, HELP! what is happening with everyone else?

He would really like his money back to sign up for classes at our local college, but I am assuming this is not possible, as Barclays have told us they have fulfilled thier obligation to him.

Sorry this post seems so fragmented. BIG Thanks to any advice given

    With Thanks,

    Ella and Mark

I understand your horror at bpf.... not long ago( june 2009 to be precise when my payments started) me and my partner had a baby.. he lost his job and i was on mat leave which is 500 a month. the woman from bpf basically told me.... once i asked if i could lower the repayments due to our circumstance.... that i knew i had an agreement with them when i fell pregnant.... so i asked her .. whatwould you suggest i do.... not have the baby because i owe mony... she just repeated herself to me. I was so horrofied to what she may be suggesting.it still angers me.

i hope bpf get whats coming.

  4. Hi Dale lincs,

Anyone else been conned by computeach? This forum are for those of us who want to join together and fight for our money back! I am determined to get yours and my money back. Please join the group and publicise it for the common cause of getting a refund against these big and powerful companies?

The point of this group is so that we can complain together against this cheating organisation. We will write to trading standards as a team and write to computeach themselves as a team. Hopefully our combined strength will pressure them into refunding our monies. Once every member of this group has had their monies refunded i will then close this group. (read less)

hey bluedo, i think the group you mean is advent training scammed us- we want our money back.... im on there and we have over 1000 people on it... i cant find group thats called advent legal action.

  5. OK I looked at my enrolment form and it states if I have no other start and end date indicated then the "term" as computeach describe it.. its 2 years.

I scanned mine hope you can read it

hi tenpack, yeah y partners says the same thing but there is no date written on it. his 2 years are up in june.. he ashnt even passd the a+ yet so the likely hood o f him passing the whole MSCA by then is unlikely.

i thought with advent you could study for as long as liked?even after the 2 years is up i tought you could extend it free of charge? does anyone have any knowledge of this?

  6. So not only have barclays "found" us a new provider.. they also intend to do in on the cheap.. its like I wrote before..

I think the intention will be one years worth of computeach time "1year subscription".. and you still have to pay BPF your 6K loan.. way to go and look after your customers...

Lets have a big round of applause for Barclays Partner Finance!!!

Another lesson from the banks on how far they will go to screw their customers for that last penny.

1 years worth? my partners course is supposed to be up in june if the 2 year thing is anything to go by... not exactly a year!this whole thing is a mess.

  7. Hi

I am too in the same situation as many of you!!!! I paid my loan off with Barclays by taking another loan out at a cheaper rate, but I still have 3 years to pay on it. When I was SOLD the computer course I never got told that I would only have 2 years to complete it. I am currently at the MCDST module and therefore have approx. 7-8 exams to complete and been told I have till the end of July!!!!!

HOW I'M SUPPOSED TO DO THIS I DON'T KNOW!!!! I was also told that the course was at your own pace as I work full time.

Is there anything we can do to get the 2 year issue lifted?

Bluemoon, i have read and re-read the advent contract, and unless you havea different from me no where does it state a time limit.. even on the front page that states a start and end date there is nothing written,

AS far as im concerned if it isnt in any contract then they cannot hold me to it.

This is a clear ' like for like issue'..... we all went with advent with the promise that we had no time limit and given that no contract states this and cant see hoe bpf canstick us with this,

  8. they want their pound of flesh and dont care where it comes from.. look what they did with the finacial crisis.. they made the mess with their corparate greed and everyone else has had to pay.. this situation is no different.. Barclays changed their business model and we are the ones who have to pick up our lives after the decision.. and they go home and sleep soundly

I cant believe that they are withing their rights to make us pay the full amount advent charged when compteaches course are more than half the price!!!surely this si not right

  9. its totally different to advent, its like a phone contract, someone pointed out on earlier posts. How you can expect to complete an mcse in a year with no experience i'll never know

surely though with the huge price difference bpf cant expect us to serioulsy pay the 5,000 that most of us are even before all the interest.....even if we had to take extra time the course is still cheaper?

  10. hi giys, just wondering if there has been any update on the letter situation... Shall i wait for martin to draft one or shall i send my own whihc wont be as good?

On another matter i know some people have been asked to start repayments... i have not been asked yet... where do we stand on NOT paying them?i really dont wnt to and i dont even have the money to anyway?im concerned i will then be in breach of contract and get myself in trouble.

  11. guys surely the fact that advent had no time limit but computeach slap a 2 year limit then charge you for any extra tim you take measn its not like for like.. also someone put this comment up on the facebook page:

Advent where the only training company in Europe, middle east and africa to be in a channel authorized partner programme(CAPP) which computeach hasn,t and i am... sure the agreement says that in order to fulfil there agreement they have to give like to like which they cant

Just to let everyone no computeach have not got the same channel award as advent had with compta.

    so def notlike forlike then???
