vibealite I had the exact same thing happen to me, visiting a property with a carpark which you'd think you'd be entitled to use since you're going in there, but as I found, the spaces were for local businesses. I was ticketed in minutes (by who I really don't know) as it was a dark, secluded carpark with no attendants.

Unfortunately, I paid it as I was worried about incurring extra costs from taking the 'ignore it' advice. Solicitors couldnt advise me on this with any certainty either, but it does seem to have worked for many. Maybe you should take the advice and ignore it, as it's a private company and unlawful. Would they incur the cost of finding the R/Keeper and taking an un-winabble (?) case to court when you don't admit to being the driver?

Is it ever possible to get Late Payment fees (in my case £12) refunded if the payment was still 'in the works' and pending on the card?

It does seem like a very simple strategy - to ignore the PPC's letters and demand they proove who the driver was. Sounds like they give up easily!

Wow. Really good advice on this forum and I'm heartened to see everyone kinda pulling together against these fraudulent companies.

Of course, I'm here becuase I was also issued a ticket from a private company (vehicle control services), demanding £80 as I did not display a permit. I was visiting the property the carpark was located at though, hence why I thought I could use it

Basically, should I deny I was driving or should I plead, saying I was using the property as a guest (which I was!). The ticket says they have film evidence - does that mean I can't deny being the driver?

Any suggestions?
