what i don't like about petrolprices is that you have to give out so much of your personal information to register!

Interestingly Diesel has a higher Calorific value than Unleaded, which is one of the reasons for better MPG. however that actually means more carbon emissions per litre of fuel burnt, everything else being equal (which of course, as usual, it isn't)

i always remember Diesel being 2p higher than unleaded, its now more like 10p!

I have found some great figures for you, take a look at Gas Bills which gives a full breakdown of typical prices by household. Given that gas heating is the most common form of central heating, it should give you a pretty good idea of overall costs

Hi Shoestring. I'm not sure I get what you mean? The graph shows that Petrol Prices tend to track the price of Crude Oil, not the other way around. I agree, an awful lot of factors contribute to the price of oil such as supply, demand, geopoliotical unrest, hedge funds etc. What I was saying was that Petrol is subject to very similar pressures, as shown by the correlation between the two products.

£200 for a dental crown is actually pretty cheap, take a look at these Dentist Prices I found this page after reading an article in the Sunday Times. Dental Crown = £355 on average, and that seems to be for the cheap sort!

There is a definate link between Petrol Prices and Oil prices, completely predicatable. If Oil stays above $85 petrol will go above £1. I'd love ot show you the graph that proves it, but CAGBot wont let me!
