  2. Victorious!!!

Now in possession of two cheques from MBNA... £70 & £80 :D

What a feeling and a great time of year for it to happen. To everyone looking to claim back these charges, keep at it!

  3. Decided to chase up on my claim against MBNA. Still no response to preliminary letter, one week left on LBA.

I'm glad I made the call, they got in touch shortly after saying they'll be sending a further cheque for £80 within the next ten days.

Will wait for the cheque to arrive before any form of celebrations begin.

  4. Preliminary letter sent on 6th December

Egg phoned yesterday, informing me they'd received my letter. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they are refunding my charges.

Letter arrived from Egg today confirming £92.58 (charges & interest) will be refunded to my bank account in 4-5 days.

    Well chuffed!

  5. Egg have been far the quickest to respond in sending my statements, out of the four claims I'm making. Hopefully it will continue to go smoothly and at a speedy rate.

Sending preliminary letter tomorrow, looking forward to reclaiming £80 I've been missing!

  6. Looking for some advice, can anyone help?

I am in the process of claiming back my charges from the Halifax. It has been a tough time in dealing with them. Story so far…

Requested statements which totaled to £505

Sent Letter before action along with copies of statements

Contacted Halifax as no reply. Their answer was it is being processed.

With no feedback from the Halifax I wrote a letter expressing my disappointment, to which no reply.

Was angered by receiving letter telling me how to gain access to statements (Completed months before)

Rang Halifax who informed me that the originals plus electronic copies of both letters which had been signed for on delivery, were now lost.

Was contacted by Halifax, an offer was made which I declined of £175.

I requested an investigation into my correspondence going missing, to which it was agreed. They informed me it wouldn’t be possible to notify me of the outcome.

Two letters detailing my case were sent out but never received, on requesting them to be sent by fax I found the reason for this was they had sent them to the wrong address.

I know its not the advised route to success but...

Halifax has admitted to their mistakes. My case was put to the project manager Richard Hall, they’ve offered me the total amount of my charges but with no added interest. I feel the Halifax should offer me a sum for compensation due to the way my case has been handled. Where do I go with this?

  7. After a long wait and much difficulty I have my statements for the last six years which totalled to over £500. When they arrived the envelope had been opened and was in a clear plastic bag with the words "Our Sincere Apologies" from the Royal Mail. Sent letter before action and have had no response from the Halifax. It was sent recorded delivery and the website informs me it was recieved.

The 14 days are now up!

Time to hit em with the small claim or should I wait for some response?
