  2. I went on a nice holiday the other day thanks to 'holiday' advice found on this site! I have to say the location was a real 'WINNER'

I would like to thank everyone who helped me make my mind up to embark on this incredible journey... and in particular Boonyed, Bankfodder et al...

My advice to everyone here is - hang in there... keep your nerve... Go for it... flying at all that bad...

I just 'SETTLED' back into your seat on the plane... it was a long flight, and not without some turbulance on the way... but let me tell you when you land the feeling is fantastic!!!!!!

PS My 'Holiday' was about £500

PPS Sorry I cannot say any more about my 'holiday' the travel agent said "not to tell anyone"

    Not bad eh...

    thanks again :)

  3. Nice one BOON, It would be easy to see why at first you would be tempted to accept the offer... However it is 80% of whats rightfully yours... Yes, its your money these people have taken in the name of charges... unfair and illegal penalties...

Stick with it, the last thing the banks want is to end up in court and lose and have a judgement against them... I can see the case law now... Boon v Barclays 2006...

    Well done... :)

  4. Oops

Defence arrived Friday... I have made a bit of a 'cock up' and forgot to include the schedule of charges therefore:

Item 1, puts me to strict proof of each charge and date thereof... (shedule and statement copies will accompany the questionnaire on return)

Item 2, The defendant is entitled to charge the claimant for unauthorised borrowing... blah blah...

Item 3, The defendants standard terms and conditions give a fair and transparent view of charges etc.. blah blah...

Item 8, It is averred that the said charges and interest are and remain lawful...

Mmmm... any comments apart from "Dom you are a nugget" for forgetting the schedule of charges?

My questionnaire must be back to the court by 28th June 2006... :-|

  5. Mmm... thats a wierd one ain't it?

All the claims and yet I don't see many end of threads saying

"Went to court and got my money back"

There is also this mysterious 'confidentiality agreement' that I have heard about... does that mean anyone who succeeds can't say?

Thing is who is going to know who skippyb or bookworm is? (no offence peeps)

Come on someone... let's have some news :?

  6. Hi Folks,

Recieved an acknowledgement of service this morning from the court...

Barclays intend to defend and have ticked the appropriate box...

However 'Hot news' it looks like Keith Jeramiah has realised he is going to be mega busy defending these claims the length and breadth of the country, and has taken on a trainee... a 'Nicholas Hartigan' (trainee solicitor) has signed the form...

Lets see what 'he' can come up with in 28 days... :)

  7. Hi all,

This has just come through from the moneysaver site... I have not included the contact details... not sure if I should so if ya interested visit moneysavigexpert.com...

    Is that ok?

icon1.gif Bank Charge Reclaiming TV Programme

I'm presenting a Tonight With Trevor MacDonald ITV1 programme on the new movement to reclaim unfair bank charges

We're looking for case studies to appear on the programme (already talking to some of the special websites). The aim is to show how many people are now doing this.

Reclaiming bank charges, case studies wanted

    1. The biggest possible success - how much have you won?

    2. A successful reclaimer on benefits

    3. Someone who reclaimed with ease, no need for court and got a decent amount £200 - £1,000

    4. Someone who has gone to court and is experting a verdict in the next couple of weeks

    5. Someone who's just written off and is waiting for their first reply.

What to do if you fit the bill (or know someone who does):

We're looking for people willing to appear on the telly to talk about it, so do think through first whether you actually want to.

If you fit the bill email .....

Don't worry, by emailing you don't say you definitely agree, it's just to say you'd consider it.

  8. Update......Have recieved letter from courts...

Mr Keith Jeremiah has 'intended to defend all of the claim!'

Now very worried...will have to swot up on all of the site to make sure I am ready!

    Has anyone got any advice???

No advice Skip, however! Keep the faith and dont worry... I expect the 'greedies' are monitoring this site and reporting directly to Mr 'Keith Jeremiah'...

Well Keith 'me ole mate' start getting ya act together coz we are coming for ya!

    'Strength in Unity'

I am looking forward to recieving my own standard "Keith Jeremiah will defend" notice soon :)

  9. Hi Booyed,

It seems I am at the same stage as you are with my case... Gonna motivate my sister into action hopefully this weekend too!

When that letter arrives offering you less than half it does make you think shall I just accept... but hey, until this site highlighted the fact that I could claim my money back I was happy with nothing... so Im gonna go the whole way too!

Drafting the next letter after posting this...

  10. Hi Folks,

All goin well so far... Barclays replied with an offer of £180 (as a gesture of goodwill) of the £486 I am claiming... this is the standard letter Barclays send out stating that they are sorry I feel the bank charges are unfair... blah blah... and they disagree with my leagl analysis... blah blah...

So, I will now move to the next phase of the claim...

    Keeping ya posted

    Dom...

Haley... had your letter offer yet?
