  1. Hi dx, just checked, there is nothing on my credit file - phew! So do I rock the boat or keep quiet?? SLC have always had my updated address, and for 15 years contacted me to pay/defer - hence I can't understand why Erudio used a random address in Brum! I've found the original SLC defer form now, thanks.
  2. I obv update bank, etc when I move (I don't have any outstanding credit cards / loans etc - except for student loan!) , I've never defaulted on anything, or missed a payment - except for daft demands from Eurudio!! I didn't know you updated your own credit file - I thought they just pooled information off records?? What are the 'stickies'?? Sorry, bit dim!! Yes, I'll write again enclosing copies of everything and send recorded delivery again. I'll check credit rating first too. They said they are/have charged me arrears for missed payments - can they do this as they failed to write to my actual address with deferral refusal/default notice? Thanks for all your words of wisdom btw!
  3. Hi, I was wondering if Citizens Advice would be of any help? I have drafted a reply email to Eurudio but maybe I'll be better off keeping quiet as they appear to be using the wrong address - through error or design as they knew I wouldn't get their correspondence so could would default and they could call the whole amount in - this and ignoring you seems to be a tactic! Is it worth me writing with old SLC defer form and evidence of continued benefits to them now? (where can I find a blank old SLC deferment form btw??) as they've ignored it before and refuse to deal with me and have told me to deal with Crapquest? I would also cc in FOS and FCA with a complaint about their conduct btw. Or should I just ignore voice messages I'm assuming are from DCA - I refuse to speak to them or Eurudio (I told a bloke at the time they stole money in 2014 I would only deal with them in writing - obv they are incapable/can't be bothered to write to anyone!!) At lease reading all the other threads on here I'm not alone, disgusting they can do this - and the Government has let them! As far as I'm concerned my loan was with SLC, not Erudio, I have signed nothing from Erudio, and refuse to, surely the terms and conditions of SLC agreement I signed still stand??? For 15 years post degree I successfully paid or deferred my loans whilst SLC handled them, funny how its all gone to * since Erudio took over!!! I haven't ever done a credit ref check - which one do you recommend - free one please - I'd like to see if Eurudio have ruined mine! P>S will Eurudio/Capquest be able to access it and find all my addresses??
  4. Officially with SLC it would appear - presumably in 2013 - as Eurudio took the money in 2014 (I still have the letter I sent to SLC with evidence dated 1st May 2012 - I was extremely ill and spent many months in and out of hospital for the next couple of years my record keeping is poor during this period I'm afraid the next thing I have is snot-o-gram letter I sent to Eurudio in July 2014 after they took the money out of my account - this was the first I'd ever heard of them - hence contacting fraud team. I don't know when Eurudio took over, I was never told. I enclosed proof of benefits etc with letter to Eurudio and assumed they'd deferred it again. Its only now they emailed me a copy of the response letter they posted in 2014 to a Birmingham address which stated they had refused to defer it - even though I'd provided evidence as I hadn't filled out their form or something?? No idea why they started writing to a Birmingham address - hence I didn't know they had refused to defer it.
  5. Hi, I'm 43 but seemingly if ive 'defaulted' I am not subject to the agreement with SLC and I can no longer defer nor will it be wiped at 50 - is this still the case? can Eurudio mark me as a default for not responding to letters sent in their error to a random address when I had supplied them with correct addresses? thanks
  6. Hi, can anyone help me please? Erudio Student Loans have referred my deferred debt to Capquest! I took out loans in 1996/7/8 with SLC and paid regularly when earning enough. Serious poor health led to me deferring whilst I was in hospital in 2014 I checked my bank account and someone called Erudio had taken over £100 without warning. I contacted the fraud team at my bank as I'd never heard of them - the bank had and said I was not alone and refunded the money. I sent a strongly worded letter to Erudio who I now knew had bought the loans - in July 2014 with evidence of my benefits/income to prove I was entitled to defer -which I sent by recorded delivery. I also copied in FOS as I was extremely angry. The Financial Ombudsman replied in writing but I heard no more from Erudio except for a small amount paid into my bank 'in compensation'. Thus I assumed that the evidence I supplied Erudio and the letter advising of serious ill health had done the trick and it was deferred again. I never heard from them again. As my health has begun to improve and I am looking at getting my affairs in order, although I am still on benefits due to my health - I emailed Erudio to ask what is the status of these loans as I had not heard from them since I was unsure if these loans were still active or had been 'written off' as I believe can happen in instances of serious ill health. Much to my horror they replied today saying my account has been 'outsourced to Capquest' who I now know are a debt recovery firm. They also state that I am unable to defer the loans anymore and I should deal with Capquest and not them! The reason for this outsource is that I failed to respond to their letter in Oct 2014 and attached a copy I see that they sent it to a random address in Birmingham - not the address in Lincolnshire which was given on the letter I sent them in July 2014, nor my parents address which was always the correspondence address when I took out the loans with SLC. Thus, no wonder I haven't replied to them or their alleged requests for their deferment form. This is yet again their error. They also admitted they failed to write to me - presumably at any address - and inform me that they were going to take money from my account - hence the £25 'compensation. What can I do? I'm not working and need to defer these loans - as per the terms I took them out under with SLC they say I am no longer eligible to do this as I didn't reply to their letters - sent to a random address Can they 'outsource' me to Capquest debt recovery when the mistake is theirs and they haven't used my address? I'm not well and don't want a bailiff turning up on my doorstep - unless they have a random one in Brum!! This is their error that has led to this, not mine - is my credit score ruined? The scanned letter they attached from Oct 2014 also mentions the loan amount going up 'due to arrears due to missed payments' - God knows what the amount will be now! Any help / suggestions who to contact for help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
