I recently made an online order for a car part, the company sent the wrong make and the wrong part. The payment was made by credit card which is now been investigated by the card company for a chargeback too be made?


I have contacted the company who are trying to claim a handling charge and requesting for me to return the goods at my expense. I believe that they cannot do this under the distance selling regulation where it states “If the goods are faulty or do not comply with the contract, you will (the retailer) have to pay for their return whatever the circumstances”


I have written to the company requesting a refund and for them to arrange a collection for the goods. I have received no reply, so it looks like they are trying to be awkward!


Is there a deadline I can give to collect the goods before I dispose of them? I am sure that I previously read somewhere that there is a time limit? If this is so it should speed things up!
