If you have a beetle - van - camper etc, post a picture or tell us about your beloved vehicle.

My first car was a 1303s Beetle - beautiful........ Bright orange - lovely oval rear window - went like a dream - was the most reliable car I have ever had bar my Toyota jeep. I had to sell it when I got a company car and loads of mileage. Wish I had kept it now. Every now and again I spot it and once I have had a drink or two I decide that I must track it down and buy it back.......... Maybe one day I will!:) I remeber old Heinz with great fondness! *weeps*

Hi all,

my first car was an Orange VW beetle. Got it after passing my test 1977!!

I bought it from my brother for £400. I loved my beetle. It was great for getting me and my 6 girlfriends to and from parties and clubs! (Before seat belt rules!!! )

It started first time even when covered with snow.

It was dented by a careless skip truck who dented the wing! I stopped him at the end of the road after a witness told me. I had been to the dentist for a filling so wasn't making much sense as I ranted and dribbled with a numb mouth at the driver for his details!!! He paid in full for repairs!

I had a re-conditioned engine put in after blowing a hole through a piston head with a broken exhaust valve!! so I was told! It just rattled a lot before stopping!

It had a black and white checkered nose cover (it stopped the bonnet getting dented by stones)

It went well and truely round the clock.

I loved my beetle and sold it 1982 when holes appeared in the floor and the pedals were underwater in the rain! Couldn't afford the big welding job needed.

There is a tear in my eye at the thought of not owning it anymore!

The Orange beetles are my favourite! and ya still see the checkered nose covers and bras about...

Floor pans are one of the first things that go on em, that and heater channels! luckily the fella who i bought mine from dry stored it for most of it's life; so most of the rust on mine is surface cosmetics..

You should go out and buy yourself an Orange beetle today. :D

I drive a company car through the week, so it's lovely to drive my "El Guapo" at the weekend... soo calming! with my 8 track player and my 1300 puring away in the background... Heaven!

i'd recomend em to anyone!
