Some usfull info in the fact sheet.

But the banks have been given permission from the FOS to freeze ALL complaints about charges until the test case is over, but they need to keep us informed along the way.

If you've had an offer that should still stand but apart from that its going to get frozen. :x

Luckily i've just had a full offer from Lloyds via the FOS about 2-3 days ago, so would appear i'm one lucky SOB.

& those of us who filed their claim a fortnight ago know exactly what will happen 18 months down the line:

In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk and salt. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Spread evenly into aluminum foil lined 8 or 9 inch square pan. Chill 2 hours or until firm. Turn onto cutting board; peel off foil and cut into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

...Yep a BIG FUDGE; cynical. moi? :p

 something like that.

I think you need to pre-heat for 12 months and then simmer for 18.

well i had letter from FOS in June to say they were dealing with complaint, i was hoping it would be all sorted by the end of aug:confused: so realistically am i looking at waiting at least a year and half now before the 'decision'?

I was in the same position as you. I called them this morning to see if my claim was frozen and they said they had written to me 2-3 days ago with an offer from Lloyds.

So give them a call as you might be lucky and have an offer on the way, if not you'll unfortunately have to wait.

I am currently trying to reclaim unauthorised overdraft fees from my bank, what happens to my claim?

The banks and building societies have been given permission by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to put your claim and those of thousands of other consumers on ice.

In short, you will have to wait for the outcome of the case between the OFT and the banks.

If the OFT wins you are likely to get your money back, if they do not you probably won't.

Nicsussex - have you got a linky for that. Just interested to see what they say.

sianie012 - I have no idea what will happen. I imagine the courts will probably stay the claim until the high court case is finished, but you never know with local courts and judges.

Ta Nic,

Thats good news then. Offers still stand. :)

Am i right in thinking that this test case is on overdraft excess fees ONLY, so credit card claims are still ongoing. Thats what i picked up from that Lloyds link above. Any know????

I also have court on 9th August!

Think i'm going to see if anything comes in post (unlikely with bloody strike) and call courts and check the day before!
