I received a letter the other day from scm saying that the bank are of a mind to settle. They asked me to send a list of charges , how interst calculated etc etc. is this normal?. is it just another delaying tactic and if not does it mean they are close to an offer? anyone know?

Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy. What is essential in war is victory, not prolonged operations.

They sent same to me saying there were discpreancies. I asked them to explain exactly what discrepancies, they couldn't! They sent same letter again, which all wasted loads of time. I get the impression that they get to a stage where they know time is running out. They also know that judges are getting p***** off with all these cases, especially when they don't turn up for court. I think they are also starting to realise just how many people are using information on here to make sure their claim is spot-on. They tried to say last week that I could not claim charges for time before the claim started on MCOL, as opposed to last 6 years - they may try that with you - I stood fast and they settled in full last Friday. The point is this, they are probably mindful of negotiating a settlement, but they will offer you loads less than your claim, it's up to you if you accept or not, but they are paying up in full to many people. If you went to court and it was seen that they had tried to settle and you had not co-operated, it may work against you. However, as long as you have done the maths right and put down exactly what you can claim for, then until proven otherwise, you are entitled to the full amount claimed. It is up to you if you want to send your calculations, etc - but make sure you have done them perfectly, or you will shoot your self in the foot.
