I am in process of reclaiming charges from Abbey to the tune of £400 and have just filed my N1 which was issued on 15th June. My account is currently £220 overdrawn, without an overdraft, as a result of them taking £300 charges (these are included in the claim). I also have a complaint with them regarding them taking my benefits which they are 'looking into'. Today I have received a letter from them saying that they want my cheque books and electron card back and have cancelled all activity on my account (I'd actually done this anyway to stop more charges). My question is can they do this when the account is in dispute?

Thanks guys, have raised a complaint re bank taking benefits but Abbey have refused to let me have them, I've now had to have benefits paid into another account but there are 2 weeks of CTC & WTC that I'm trying to get back from them (when the amounts credited they just reduced the unauthorised overdarft that occured as a result of charges being taken out.)

I've sent them a letter which has been acknowledged - about 4 weeks ago but have heard nothing since. I spoke to FOS and they weren't interested, nor were TS so not sure where to go with the complaint.
