I have just recieved a letter and first offer from the Halifax offering £2014.00 in full settlement of my claim of £4500.00 in bank charges.

Could anyone tell me what I do from here as I have used all the bank Templates 1-6. do I contact them by phone declining this offer or do I go to the County Court?

I would like some help and advise with this because if I dont contact them in the next 10 days they will automatically transfer this offer into my account as the full and final settlement.

You can find a reject offer letter here some place, have you filed a claim with a court? it is roughly 10% less and given you would have to file a claim and pay the costs upfront and wait months but, it's your call!

Yes you need to send the rejection letter..

What stage are you at. Have you sent your Lba letter yet? If not then there is no need to go to court yet.

Phoning wont do any good, also you should do everything in writing and keep copies of everything you send.

I wouldn't dream of adding anything to SSL's reply - other than to say, that there have been folks who have accepted the first offer as PARTIAL REPAYMENT on the understanding that they are STILL going to Court.

Apparently that shows them that you really mean business!
