Excuse me if I sound thick but I have honestly never been issued with a parking ticket, and hopefully I won't be!

I've never seen this forum before but i was talking with my sister about tickets only this week because she received a ticket last Sunday because she used a Europark car park but she overstayed her ticket by 12 minutes!

She will probably just pay the ticket, no quibbling, but I just wondered because it was £70 is this normal?

I always thought tickets were about £20 but am I in the olden days??

Settled at 50%

Clydesdale £155. Should have been £310 charges, plus interest :( Husbands Account.

SETTLED IN FULL:

MBNA £1230. For Hubby.

Halifax £39.

RBS £342. For Hubby.

Cap One £200.

Abbey:

:D Settled in FULL April 18th 2007. £5179.83 Paid but what a long battle!

:D

COMPENSATION OF £100 ON 14/04/08 FOR CONTINUED HARASSEMENT.

The ticket from Europark is a private invoice based upon contract law. It is not a parking ticket, persay! The onus on the parking company is to prove who the driver was, this is not neccessarily the registered keeper. The standard response is that the registered keeper of the vehicle was not the person whom entered into the implied contract and that the RK has no legal obligation to provide any such details, or any details at all for that matter!

If you really want an arguement, ask Europark to provide a breakdown of their costs in relation to their charge of £70.

Penalty charges in contract law are un-enforceable... Simple as.....!

Best wishes & regards, Dave.
