Our current eletricity supplier is Powergen, we live in a one bedroom apartment so we have no gas in the apartment, when we first moved in and contacted Powergen they put us on a monthly pay plan of £40 we pay by DD and have never had a problem, then this morning we got a bill through from Powergen saying that they have reviewed our bill and they now want us to pay £147 per month due to the account being in arrears this is not out fault as the customer advisor said to us on the phone that when we first set it up we should have been paying £60 per month not £40 hence where the debt has come from, we told Powergen that we cant afford £147 per month but all they said they can do is reduce this to £108 Whoopie Doo or they can put us on a prepaid meter which is no good to us, basically they are wanting us to pay the £400 debt back over 4 months instead or dividing it over the next 12 enabling us to clear it...they just wont budge so now we have to find an extra £70 per month for a one bedroom flat! Is there anything we can do?:-x
