Morgan Stanley sent me someone else's CC statements!!!

This is amazing. I sent off a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) to MS and they sent me all the information including detailed bank statements were for someone else with the same Surname as me. The card number was different as was the address!

 

I sent them a letter and also the person who's information I now have, stating that they MS had made a mistake and in breach of the Data Protection Act. I told the yound lady (yes they even failed to spot it was a Ms and I am a Mr!) that she should report them and generally take them to the cleaners....

 

Any ideas on what I should do next?

Hi,

You should report this to the Information Commissioner. This is a serious breach of the act and I believe they would get their knuckles rapped for it.

I am tempted to wait though since they will be in default soon, I suppose I should have left it and then hit them when they were in default due to their school boy error!

They weren't my daughter's by any chance? Sent MS a SAR on 23rd April not a word from them despite a 30 day reminder plus a final 7 day letter sent Monday.

You should report this to the Information Commissioner. This is a serious breach of the act and I believe they would get their knuckles rapped for it.
