I've done a search, but couldn't find any advice, so apologies if this question has been answered before...

Does anyone know if charges on student accounts (£10 for an unpaid DD, cheque etc.) can be claimed? They are below the usual £25, but are they still considered excessive?

Thanks in advance.

Indeed they can - any charges that are more than it costs the bank to deal with it!

... especially if (like me) you find yourself charged for something you were explicitly told that you would not be charged for with a student account. If you get hit by these (e.g. I was told that student accounts are not subject to a fee for arranging temporary overdrafts, and was then charged £20 for arranging one), highlight them in your correspondence.
