Hi

I've already been through the claiming process and won, even before I had to send my official claim form in! The bank folded after my LBA which was totally unexpected but great!

Anyway, I digress, I've since had a couple of charges due to a couple of huge bills coming out and leaving me penniless for a couple of days. In this period though, I've managed to clock up 2 more charges and so obviously want the money back. Can I do this and do I have to go through the same process as the first time, or would it be something I could request over the phone?

Try the phone, they will know you're serious this time, and generally low claims are settled quite quickly. It seems strange Barclays settles at LBA - that's almost unheard of, unless that too was a really small claim?

Try ringing customer services, or speak to your bank, and see what they say - then if no luck, start all over again!

Many people have gone through the same process after already settling claims due to further charges applied to the account during the claim period.

I would start the same process and would be pretty sure that they will settle rather quickly.

Thanks everyone.

I'll try phoning first then and if there's no joy then I'll start the formal process again.

Just out of interest my first claim was smallish, £450, so it wasn't a massive amount but still, worth claiming back. I was very surprised to get it back so quickly. Hopefully my next claim will be even quicker! I'll keep you posted :)

The smaller claims do tend to get settled a lot quicker, usually around the LBA stage, just like your first one. So hopefully the same will apply with your second claim!!

One word of advice - a number of people had accounts closed after making second claims

Not saying you will be among them, and you should get your money back as they have been dumb enough to charge you again despite having folded last time, but suggest you have a parachute account just in case they get shirty....

If you think my advice has been helpful, please click on the scales to the left :) thank you!

this is an interesting thought. banks still continue to pay out and still continue to charge, does not make any sense. they have even reworded their t&cs to make it sound more like a service for profit, yet if they are paying out the charges they have made following this revision in their t@cs does this not tell us somthing:shock:
