Can anyone help me please? I put a claim in against natwest the bank did acknowledged it so that gave them 28 days, that ran out yesturday. So first thing this morning I enterd judgement against them. then the postman came and I had a letter from the bank saying it was serving me with a defence the letter was dated the 11/06/2007 but I dint get the letter until today, Is it to late for the bank???

I would say that as the 28 days ran out yesterday and their letter was also dated yesterday then it would not be considered late.

It is just typical that if you give the banks 28 days they will utilise every single moment of the tiem given.

Just one other thing Daz.

As Nasty Vest are going to be defending the claim, just make sure that you have all of your paperwork in order.

It may well be that it will not get that far but it is always best to be prepared rather than losing yiur claim due to bad preperation.

but the money claim on-line site still did not have a defence from Natwest when i logged on this morning. so it must be when the court gets the defence that counts not me

What sometimes happens is that the court, for whatever reason, gives the bank an extra day or two to get the defence lodged.

Also I read over the weekend that the MCOL system is on the verge of collapse due to the volume of claims being submitted by the great British public.

Based on this why not give the court a quick ring just to get their view on what happens next.
