I wrote to Barclaycard requesting statements for an account I had with them four years ago, I know I paid a lot of late fee and over balance charges.

They cashed my cheque and then sent my son a letter saying the would get the information to him as soon as possible. My son also had a barclaycard (account now closed).

My letter clearly had my name and my old account number. Do I have to give them another forty days or should I just allow them the seven days which they have left to comply? I am just about to write to them to inform them of their mistake.

Ok write to them explaining their mistake, and do NOT give them another 40 days, stick to your timeline, tell them how long they have to get you the correct information, and then go onto the next stage.

Good luck. Remember your money, your timeline, not theirs
