Haven't put this in the NHS forum as it deals specifically with private treatment...

A friend of mine was given the choice of whether to have treatment in Swansea or London.

She has chosen London and th reason is that it costs £500 more to get the hormone drug delivered to her if her treatment is in Swansea rather than London!

Ultimately it is her decision, but just wondered if anyone has come across this and knows why the same drug would cost more to be "purchased" via Swansea than London...

Cheers

We're currently doing private IVF treatment and we asked for a private prescription so that we could shop around for our own drugs rather than buy them from the private clinic. We got our drugs from a company called Pharmasure in Watford and saved ourselves £200. They do have a website with their contact details and as a matter of interest, she could ring them with her drug protocol and as how much they would charge for her drugs. They don't charge for delivery for most of the drugs, there is one drug that needs to be refrigerated and if you buy it from them, they do charge £20 delivery for the cool box.

But sorry, can't answer as to why the drugs cost more in Swansea.

Hope this helps.
