Seems to me like a complaints forum isn't needed after all...:)

I dont think we need a complaints forum, but I can see what mc661 has a problem with if no one answered his thread I had the same problem on one of my threads and when your new and nobody is answering you it is even more daunting, but I would not want to complain, maybe there is a way round this

Indeed there is.

I can't remember off-hand where it is posted, but essentially we advise users to contact a Moderator or Site Helper if their posts have gone unanswered for 24 hours, or indeed if there is a pressing need for response it can be earlier.

By response, I don't mean that Moderators or Site Helpers must have already responded, simply that your query is unanswered at all - or perhaps you have been given conflicting information and need to know which is the more accurate response etc.

..

.

That's a fair point, and certainly one that would need to be dealt with, but as you say, not a complaint per se...when it is busy, as it has been, simply bump your thread and someone will come along shortly...

If you put your mind to it, I'm sure you can think of something!! Not like you to give up that easily:)
LOL...hmmm...now let me think...do you think complaints about the funniness (or not) of Bookie's jokes would be a valid complaint?

No. And your syntax is slipping, my lad.

Crash course then, next instalment:

At the bottom right hand corner, you'll see this:

quote.gif multiquote_off.gif

If you only want to quote one post, click on the "quote" one, if more than one, click on the multi-quote one, it then lights up orange, same on the next post, etc until you reach the last one, where you click on the multi-quote first, then the quote one.

Once you click on the "quote", it will open a reply with all the quotes already inserted. If you don't want to quote the whole post, go inside the quoted bits and delete what you don't want to keep.

Alternatively, if you want to quote something from elsewhere, click on

quote.gif in the reply bar, it will open this:

]...
, all you have to is paste your message inside the 2 quotes, and voila.

Practise, practise and practise again.

To all those of you who have said thank you, thank YOU. We don't do it for money, we don't do it for thanks, but it's nice all the same when we get them. :-)

How refreshing. A thread that has not degenerated into mud slinging and name calling. I am actually reading this with a smile on my face

I have to agree with you there Yoda, it's definately a nice change to all the bickering! I really hope everything gets back onto an even keel, and the sooner the better - I hate any animosity! :( Keep the site doing what it does best - helping people to reclaim whats rightfully theirs, and giving us the power to help ourselves [ignore me if I'm rambling - I'm having a dizzy blonde moment :D no offence anyone!]

Oh, and BTW, thanks for the crash course in multi-quoting bookie - I kept wondering how you were supposed to do that, but too proud and Yorkshire to ask ;) lol

No. And your syntax is slipping, my lad.
As in "...to catch a train to catch..." type of slipping? And what happened to my witty post that was originally in spot 33?

Hiya - it is quite simply adding a post below your last post, with ***BUMP*** as the message...people will spot it and get back to you...

I'm soft, cute, fluffy and cuddly in real life...I just use that face to scare certain people here, and also to scare the bank...

I think that is an excellent idea, the problem being that for "newbie" the whole site is getting so large now that is seems very easy to lose yourself on the forums. I remember (in the good old days  ) when I first joined the forum and it was just picking up in pace, now it is amazing the number of posts that are made on a daily basis.

Unfortunately for new members they will find it difficult at times to navigate the site and also they will panic when their questions go unanswered. I think we all just have to help each other as much as possible.

I would also like to thank everybody on there for all of the help I have received, I will always be indebted to this forum for giving me the information to claim my charges back, also sort out some of my debts and to empower members in a way that is very unique and very special to this forum.

Please keep up the good work!! xx

And what my non-witty, greenish grinning Grinchy friend didn't say, surprisingly since he usually likes to inundate people with his knowledge, is that BUMP is an acronym for Bring Up My Post.

Edit: Ooops, sorry, Chezt, hadn't seen your answer there. Sorry and thanks, then! ;-)
