Hope I'm posting in the right place! I've looked at all the threads, and can't see anything on this:

To cut a long story short, I was made redundant in 1999 and again in 2000 - and have been struggling with debt since then. I have paid off my priority debts, i.e. council tax, but still have 3 Lloyds Bank debts.

Basically, in early 2004 I was desperate and called Black Horse to see if I could consolidate my debt. This turned out to be a bad move because they said they couldn't lend me the whole amount (to pay off my other debts) but could lend me £1500 "to help me". Of course, I signed as I was panicking, but last year I saw a programme about Black Horse, among others, and found out they should have pointed me in the direction of debt counselling instead of getting me deeper into debt. Indeed, a mere 3 months later and I was already having trouble meeting their monthly payment...

This has gone on for so long, and as a single mum on an NHS salary it has been a struggle, to say the least. The £2000 I borrowed in 1998, an overdraft of £1000 incurred trying to go self-employed, and the above £1500 of 2004 have now turned into a deb of £9000, i.e. double what I borrowed originally! I am fed up and would dearly like to complain about Black Horse but do not know where to start.

Can anyone help?
