I just checked my account this morning on the internet as I had £80 of charges due to be taken.

I'd already rang customer services about a week ago regarding a letter they'd sent me about them being 'sorry it's taking so long to deal with my complaint'. I was wandering what complaint I'd made and it seems that when I asked for £110 to be returned to me in January as I couldn't afford it, they classed it as a complaint even though it was resolved over the phone and they refunded me.

The woman I spoke to said 'it looks like there's been a goodwill payment and there's a letter on it's way to you'. I didnt have a clue what she was on about and asked if this payment included aforementioned £80 but she was very vague so I left it at that.

Now because I still haven't recieved any letters from abbey, i've been regularly checking my account online. After recieving back all my charges previously taken from me with what seems to be one phonecall, now this morning, after each debited charge is a payment paying them back in!!

What is going on? I have never even sent a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) to my bank, never mind a prelim or lba and yet they are just giving me back everything as they take it!:D

Has anyone else had this happen recently?

Thanks. I know it's a small amount to some people (£445) but i'm sure i've read threads where the bank has gone to court for a lot less. Looks like their coming to their senses finally and trying to cut their losses before claims get started. ;)
