Hi,

Does anybody know if there are any good banks out there? Any that don't charge punitively and who actually have the best interests of the customer in mind?

I think somebody should open one...!

Co-op are the worst of the bunch. Any time they've faced a fine for their business practices, the board claims it would be "unfair" for them to foot the bill, so pass it on to the members.

To be fair the first part of the question was are there any good banks out there...........not in UK.

The second part was any that don't charge punitively and who actually have the best interests of the customer in mind......a bank is a business not a going concern, ergo no.

I've tried a number of banks over the years, and find Smile, who are part of the Co-op have been the easiest to deal with. Although fees are high, they are quite easy to get back, and claims are generally settled without the need for court action.
