Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

Reclaimed ppi due to OH being self employed so far had success with..

Monument - offered £1252 (which included interest)

Still awaiting final sums but

Halifax loans x 3 - admitted that ppi would not have been appropriate and have decided to put in a position if never had ppi

Halifax credit card done the same

Hi There,

Just wondered how long it took halifax to pay you the amount to 'put you back in a position if never had ppi' as i have had this same letter from them regards my loan?

Many thanks!

Hello all

Delighted to tell you I will be getting £4023.76 in PPI premiums back from HSBC plus £807.74 interest at 8%. They have also recalculated the loan taking into account the interest on the PPI and there is now only £78 left to pay....

I wrote one letter only, and heard back within 5 weeks. They have admitted fault; I had Critical Illness Protection and Income Protection and was self-employed when I took the loan out, so they have basically rolled over. Still, I was pretty nervous about taking them on as I have my whole financial life with them. Fantastic result for the price of recorded delivery postage!

I know this will be really corny but as magiciansgirl you should have been able to make the last £78 dissappear as well8-)

Congratulations on getting your money back where it belongs:D

Going to the FO about inappropriate Credit Card insurance and non-compliance of Subject Access Request request!! The non compliance of the SAR should be the Information Commissioners Office just to keep you on track;)

Just obtained default judgment against shabby for £2,550 on a PPI for a loan. They offered the original premiums plus 8% apr £700, I took the claim to CCourt using Misrepresentation Act, Common law, and case law from the stickies asking for restitution. They did not even file acknowledgement. Outside of 6 years from agreement.

That is a cracking result for PPI reclaim through court action. Most including myself went through the FOS route. If you have any details of the procedures paperwork etc I am sure it would be totally useful for cag members reclaiming PPI through the County Courts.

If you would be willing to start a thread in the PPI forum with more info I am sure it would be of great benefit. If you can help that would be great.:D

AA I have another bigger PPI court case coming up, which they have filed an acknowledgement on even if late. Just missed a default judgement as they process acknowledgements before default judgements... Yes, I should pull everything together it was my extensive reading on this site which made my mind up to not bother with the FOS for any reason other than to punish the provider with the £350 cost of a case. That will no doubt be charged regardless of your court action invalidating an existing FOS claim. The POC you can get via the stickies is a good source of info.

PPI Success. Won £3,999 with MBNA. Took one letter and they rolled over! offered £1,500 over the phone first which I turned down. 8 days later a letter came through the post for the full amount claiming for.
